The Day the Music Died

Psalm 29- a psalm of David

Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King forever.

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Psalm 33:6-

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

verse 9- For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

All things were created by Him. ALL things! Our God is awesome in power- he doesn’t just make stuff out of some elusive material out in space, HE BREATHES OUT STARS. Jesus indeed is worthy of praise. He is before all things and by Him they consist. And we had the audacity to cross His will, to break His commandments? To rebel against Him Who was in the beginning, Who was with God, and Who was God? The Word, our author and source of Life?

But then, He came down to earth and was made man, taking on flesh for the express purpose of dying. Through Him we exist, but how when He died? We sing of the day the music died, but what a day it was when all creation died.

And how much more glorious when all of creation lived, and rose from the grave? When Christ conquered death? His victory was complete indeed.

Praise God for Easter Morning!

Wow. I never thought about it that way - taking on flesh for the purpose of dying. If that isn't love, then I don't know what is. Praise the Lord.
